TREATMENTS

Using these three fundamental tools of Chinese medicine, I create individualized treatment plans for each patient according to their unique presentation, diagnosis and treatment response.

ACUPUNCTURE

I am extensively trained in classical Chinese acupuncture methods from both the TCM and five-element traditions. I also utilize modern methods of sports medicine, myofascial trigger point needling and electro-acupuncture for specific musculoskeletal or neuromuscular issues. Often I will use a blend of these techniques and traditions, specific to each patient’s condition and underlying causes.

BODYWORK

Manual therapies have been used for centuries for promoting recovery from injury and pain. I draw on traditional Asian modalities like Cupping, Gua Sha, Tiu-na and shiatsu, as well as Western techniques such as PNF stretches, deep tissue and sports massage. I carefully consider the patient's stage of injury and other factors, then apply the appropriate techniques to facilitate blood and lymph circulation, reduce hypertonicity, increase range of motion, break up adhesions and stimulate regeneration of healthy tissue.

CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE

The Chinese herbal tradition offers safe, natural, effective medicine that goes beyond symptomatic relief and nurtures health on a deeper level. As with all that I offer, I tailor custom formulas specific to each patient’s unique picture and continually modify as that picture changes. I use only herbs from Mayway, the pinnacle of purity, authenticity and potency. Formulas are custom made to my specifications at their excellent facility in Oakland and drop-shipped directly to your home.
